Anita Bateman (CCL/Mellon Seminar 2016) has been named Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston!

Bateman has held curatorial positions at RISD Museum, the Williams College Museum of Art, and the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke. Some of her exhibitions include, Black Flyyyand Defying the Shadow (RISD); Roots & Roads (Franklin Street Works); and co-curated, with Carrie Mae Weems, Beyond Space (Carr Center). Bateman received her Ph.D. in art history and visual culture from Duke University.
