Description
The McNay Art Museum, a museum of modern and contemporary art, is offering a twelve-month internship in curatorial work beginning fall of 2019. The goal of the internship is to prepare individuals interested in embarking on a curatorial career by providing significant experience in several areas of specialization, including work with the collection, exhibitions, publications, and programs.
The salary for this twelve-month, full-time internship is $33,092.
Requirements
Applicants should have a master’s degree in art history, art criticism, museum studies, curatorial practice, or a related field; excellent written and oral communication skills; computer proficiency; and research skills.
The internship program has a strong record of success, with previous interns currently holding positions at the Ashville Art Museum, Columbia Museum of Art, Kimbell Art Museum, San Antonio Museum of Art; Cedar Rapids Museum of Art; and McNay Art Museum, among other institutions. Submit: 1) cover letter with mailing address, e-mail, and telephone information; 2) resume; 3) official college and graduate school transcripts; 4) names and full contact information for three academic, museum, or professional references; and 5) a two-page double-spaced typed essay on your curatorial focus and what you hope to learn from the internship.
