The Barnes Foundation Names Sylvie Patry (CCL class of 2014) Chief Curator and Deputy Director for Collections and Exhibitions

Core Advancement

We're thrilled that Sylvie Patry (CCL class of 2014) will be taking the reins at The Barnes Foundation as the Chief Curator and Deputy Director for collections and exhibitions. Patry was previously Chief Curator of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Paintings at the Musée d'Orsay, Paris, where she produced significant exhibitions of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works.

Patry told the New York Times that the Barnes has “a collection that is known but not so well known, which makes it a very interesting job for a curator. It was so isolated in a way for so many years and there are so many stories still embedded in the collection. My sense is that the relocation has really reshuffled the cards.”
