Core Advancement

Two great pieces of news out of Illinois: Jon Seydl (CCL 2014) has been named Director of the Krannert Art Museum and Kinkead Pavilion at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Jay Clarke (CCL 2016) has been appointed Curator in the Department of Prints and Drawings at The Art Institute of Chicago!

Jon will join the Krannert in February after serving as the Director of Curatorial Affairs and Curator of European Art at the Worcester Art Museum. "KAM’s commitment to research, its outstanding curators and nationally recognized exhibition program, the museum’s wonderful team and fine collection are what drew me to this role," he explains.

Jay comes to the Art Institute from The Clark Art Institute, where she has been the Manton Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs since 2009. She joins the same department at the Art Institute in which she had previously worked from 1997 to 2009. Kevin Salatino (CCL 2009), chair of the department, notes: "Jay has superb curatorial credentials and an outstanding reputation as a strong leader, generous mentor, respected scholar, and creative collaborator."

Congratulations to these two outstanding CCL alumni on their exciting moves! Learn more about Jay's appointment here, and Jon's appointment here
