Congratulations to Toby Kamps (CCL 2015), who has been named the Jane Dale Owen Director and Chief Curator of the Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston. Toby joins the now-27 CCL alumni currently serving as directors of cultural institutions.

Most recently Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Menil Collection, Toby has organized exhibitions of the work of Claes Oldenburg, Ellsworth Kelly, Vanessa Beecroft, and Danny Lyon, among many others. In addition, he curated this year's Spotlight features at Frieze Fairs.

At the Blaffer, Toby will combine his directorship with a research assistant professorship in art history at the University of Houston. “The Blaffer Art Museum has a wonderful record of innovative exhibitions of contemporary art," he explains. "[It] is truly a gateway between the university and the wider world.”
