Reto Thüring (CCL 2016) and Theresa Papanikolas (CCL 2016) Promoted to Leadership Positions

Curators Reto Thüring and Theresa Papanikolas have each been promoted to positions of greater leadership within their respective institutions.

Reto Thüring (CCL 2016) has been named the Chair of Modern, Contemporary, and Decorative Art, and Performing Arts and Curator of Contemporary Art at The Cleveland Museum of Art. Since joining the museum in 2012, Reto has presented a range of solo-projects with artists including Martin Creed, Fred Wilson, and Janet Cardiff as well as the museum's current exhibition "Albert Oehlen: Woods near Oehle."

Previously serving as the Curator of European and American Art at the Honolulu Museum of Art, Theresa Papanikolas (CCL 2016) has been named Deputy Director of Art and Programs. In this role, she will oversee the museum's Education, Installations, and Collections departments as well as the Art School and Library. Theresa joined the museum in 2008 and has since led a reinstallation of the permanent collection and organized significant exhibitions including "From Whistler to Warhol: Modernism on Paper" and "Art Deco Hawaii."
