Rochelle Steiner (CCL 2009) Named Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs and Programs at Palm Springs Art Museum

Rochelle Steiner (CCL 2009) has been named Chief Curator & Director of Curatorial Affairs and Programs at the Palm Springs Art Museum! 

Rochelle comes to the Palm Springs Art Museum from the Vancouver Art Gallery, where she serves as the associate director and chief curator. Rochelle has also held posts at the Roski School of Art & Design at the University of Southern California, Public Art Fund, and the Serpentine Gallery. Throughout her career, Rochelle has organized projects and exhibitions with numerous artists, including Cindy Sherman, Olafur Eliasson, Sarah Sze, Elmgreen & Dragset, and Takashi Murakami. 

Executive director and CEO of the museum Louis Grachos added, “I have followed Rochelle’s career ever since we met in 1994. Her intimate familiarity with the Southern California art scene, wide range of relationships in the global contemporary art community, and exceptional organizational skills will lead our curatorial and education departments in ever more dynamic and engaging directions.”
